St. Benedict Chapel

• After the fire, this chapel was redesigned by Poletti to recall the cella of a Greco-Roman temple. The grey columns are ancient columns from Veio. In the original basilica, this space was the entrance passage from the Via Ostiense

• The statue is St. Benedict. He is the founder of the Benedictine order
