Although condemned for being Christian, Paul was entitled to this type of death because he was a Roman citizen. The inscription reads: " To the preacher of truth, the teacher of nations" • The columns in front of the facade are red Baveno granite. A head of St. Paul is carved into the top of the columns

Date: 1600s • The sides have reliefs of souls suffering in purgatory • The door on the left is an entrance to the Catacombs of St. Cyriaca. St. Cyriaca (249 d.) was the Roman woman who, after his martyrdom, buried St. Lawrence on this site.
