• This painting is Christ Meets Veronica
• After Jesus is sentenced to die, he is forced to carry a cross through Jerusalem to a hill outside the city. Traditionally, he meets Veronica who, out of pity, wipes his face with her veil. Miraculously, Jesus' face is imprinted on the veil
• The relic today is preserved in St. Peter's basilica
