• The fresco is Triumph of St. Thomas Aquinas over Heresy
St. Thomas holds the Bible which says "I will destroy the wisdom of the wise." At his feet, the man with a book on him, represents heresy and holds the banner "Wisdom defeats wickedness." The women from the left, represent philosophy, theology, dialectics, and grammar
• Various heretics are in front including Mani, Eutyches, Sabellius, Arius. Their works are about to be burned. The Dominican at right is Gioacchino Torriani or Valentino da Camerino. The Medici's who became Popes Leo X and Clement VII are also present as well as Niccolo di Pitigliano who led the papal army
• The Lateran basilica is in the left background with Marcus Aurelius statue
