Chapel of St. Thomas Aquinas

• The entry arch has an inscription dedicating this chapel to the Virgin of the Annunciation and St. Thomas Aquinas (1225-1274)

• The chapel was built by the Dominican Cardinal Oliviero Carafa (1430-1511) who commissioned Filippino Lippi to make the frescoes. This is Lippi's only work in Rome

• The Dominican St. Thomas Aquinas has been declared a doctor of the Church and continues to be one of the most influential theologians in the history of the Catholic church
