Anchor 1 Aisle • The chronological sequence of Pope mosaics ends here with Pope Benedict XVI (although he is no longer the current Pope). Throughout the church, there are about 26 spaces remaining. After the fire, only 42 of these portraits remained and they are found in the museum. Pope Pius IV had them all remade starting in 1847 ▲ ▶ ◀ ▼
