Anchor 1 Baldachin Artist: Arnolfo di Cambio Date: 1285 • The corner statue is St. Peter with keys • The center inscription notes that the work was commissioned by the Benedictine abbot Bartholomew in 1285 • Above St. Paul, on the opposite side, is the inscription, "Arnolfo did this work", which is continued above St. Peter, "with his assistant Pietro." This assistant is likely Pietro di Oderisio • To the left of St. Peter, abbot Bartholomew offers the baldachin to St. Paul on the other side of the arch ▶ ◀ ▼
