He is buried in this church in the chapel bearing his name • St. Stanislaus actually died in another building to the right of the present church. After Napoleon conquered Rome, he had the painting moved to the Louvre in France. Later, after the fall of Napolean, the painting was returned to the Vatican Pinacoteca where it remains today • Raphael's approach is unique as he combines the episodes of the transfiguration (above) and the healing the a possessed boy (below).
