He died in 1537 • Maura, the sister of Bishop Gregorio, was the first abbess of the convent and is buried at the base of his tomb • The tomb shows Bishop Gregorio with the figures of Faith on the left and Justice on the right

On the right are St. Lawrence and St. Justin Martyr • The inscription notes that it was Pope Pius IX who renovated the church in 1864. Pope Pius IX (1846-1878) is buried below the presbytery • Daniel is at the left spandrel and Isaiah is at the right

Anchor 1 S. Maria ad Martyres (Pantheon) Agrippa temple to all the gods: 27BC Hadrian rebuild: 117-138 Boniface IV consecrates as Church: 609 • Hadrian's Latin inscription says Marcus Agrippa built this during his third term as consul • The 16 granite columns are about 42 feet high and 15 feet around. Popes Urban VIII and Alexander VII (1655-1667) replaced the three on the left • The walls have brick from 115-124 which would have been covered with marble • The niches on each side of the main door had large statues of Agrippa, on the left, and Augustus, on the right ◀

They each spoke of the coming of Jesus
