Pope Gregory XIII (1572-1585) is the namesake for the Gregorian Calendar which is still, worldwide, the most used calendar today. The relief on his tomb shows this in detail • The statue on the left is Religion and on the right is Fortitude. Gregory XIII was of the Buoncompagni family whose coat of arms includes the winged dragon which is at bottom center
