The baldachin itself survived the fire but the columns are new • The Benedictine abbot Bartholomew who commissioned this work is represented in one of the corner statues and on the front panel ▶ ◀ ▲

Anchor 1 ▼ Coffered Ceiling Artist: Giovanni Vasanzio Date: 1612 • The ceiling is of carved wood with the main figure being St. Sebastian • The coat of arms near the entrance of the church is of Cardinal Borghese (1576-1633) who funded the building • The coat of arms near the apse of the church is of Pope Gregory XVI (1831-1846) who restored the ceiling

These were the words spoken by Jesus after his resurrection to Mary Magdalene • Previously this painting was located in the Frangipane Chapel in this church. At that time the Frangipane chapel was dedicated to St. Mary Magdalene • The marble base of the baptismal font is from the 1724 renovation of the chapel following the plan of Filippo Raguzzini

During this time, the chapel walls were faced with polychrome marbles with flower decorations. One of these includes a rose motif which recalls the saint's name ▲ ◀
